Junior Referees
o Have played at least 1 season of soccer
o Be at least 10 years old and in 4 th grade, and 2 years older than the age that
you will referee.
o Register on-line and sign medical release.
o Attend 1 training session on September 7 th or 8 th , 2019. See Club Calendar.
o Become familiar with the Rules specific to U8 and U9 Recreation Soccer
games on the LCSC website
o Bring a whistle and stopwatch to each game. Whistle will be provided at
training session.
o Wear LSCS referee uniform/shirt, which will be provided on game day.
o Arrive to the field at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the assigned
o Check in at the field with the Game Day Coordinators for field assignment.
o Check all players for shin guards
o Begin the game within 5 minutes of the start time
o End the first half at 25 minutes past the hour, regardless of what time the
game begins
o Allow for a 5 minutes half time.
o End the second half at 55 minutes past the hour, regardless of what time
the game or second half begins.
o Sign out with the Game Day Coordinator, in order to get paid.
o Let the Game Day Coordinator know of any issues that arise during the

Junior refs will be compensated with one check at the end of the season in the
amount of $10 per game refereed. Text/email the Head Ref Coordinator if for
some reason you cannot make your assigned game, before the start of the
game. Junior referees who do not show for 2 assigned shifts with be not be
asked to return until the following season, and after going through training
